Compliance and Data Integrity Framework
AeroWeather is built on a 'Privacy by Architecture' foundation. We believe your environmental data reflects your life—and that belongs to you.
Our Comprehensive Data Philosophy
At AeroWeather, we fundamentally reject the practice of monetizing personal movement records or selling user profiles to third-party brokers. Our platform is engineered to function with minimal identifiers, prioritizing on-device processing over cloud-side logging. This policy outlines how we handle the essential signals required to deliver precise, real-time weather intelligence. We operate under the principle of data minimization, ensuring that we only collect what is strictly necessary to provide our services and protect our infrastructure from malicious activity.
Geographical Signal Handling and Precision
When you grant location permissions, our system uses your approximate coordinates solely to query the nearest meteorological nodes within our distributed data network. This data is handled temporarily in your browser's persistent state (LocalStorage) and is never transmitted to our central servers for identity tracking or long-term behavioral profiling. We do not maintain a history of your past locations. If you decline permissions, you may still access global weather data by manually querying specific cities using our high-precision geocoding engine.
Client-Side Persistence and Cache Management
We utilize modern browser storage technologies like LocalStorage and IndexedDB to cache your preferences, saved cities, and recent weather snapshots locally. This ensures the AeroWeather dashboard remains responsive during periods of intermittent connectivity and significantly reduces redundant API calls to our scientific partners. This data never leaves your device unless specifically requested by a feature you intentionally trigger. You can clear this data at any time through your browser's 'Clear Site Data' settings without impacting your primary access to the tool.
Downstream Infrastructure and Analytics
Our intelligence is powered by elite scientific providers including Open-Meteo, RainViewer, and OpenStreetMap. While we fetch data relative to your geographical region, your personal IP address is proxied or obfuscated where possible to prevent third-party profiling. We also utilize lightweight, privacy-focused analytics (Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights) to monitor platform performance and identify technical bottlenecks. These tools are configured to be anonymous and do not track you across other websites. We encourage you to review the independent policies of these scientific data providers.
User Rights and Global Frameworks
Regardless of your physical location, AeroWeather respects the principles established by the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and the CCPA. You have the right to know what data is being processed, the right to request deletion of any locally stored preferences, and the right to use our core platform without providing any personally identifiable information. Because we do not use 'Account' systems in the traditional sense, your data is tied to your browser instance and remains fully under your control.
Lightweight Cookie Disclosure
AeroWeather uses 'Functional Cookies' only. These are small files used to remember your theme choice (Light/Dark mode) and your language preference (Locale). We do not use 'Targeting Cookies' or 'Marketing Cookies.' Our goal is a pure, ad-free intelligence experience where the interface adapts to your needs without monitoring your interests. By using our platform, you consent to these essential cookies that ensure the basic stability and personalization of the dashboard.
